1. What Undergrove is

Undergrove helps you find scholarships you may be eligible for, and helps you draft application essays.

Undergrove is a search and drafting tool. It is not a scholarship provider, and we do not award money. All scholarships listed are run by other organisations, and every decision about who receives one is theirs alone.

2. Undergrove uses AI

Our scholarship search is powered by artificial intelligence. We use it to find awards that don't appear on the large scholarship sites, to read scholarship pages and pull out the details, and to rank results for you.

Our essay drafting tool is an AI writing tool.

You are interacting with software, not a person. No human at Undergrove reviews your profile or writes your drafts. When you email us, a person does read that.

We use models provided by Anthropic. Your profile and prompts are sent to Anthropic to produce your results. See our Privacy Policy for what that means.

3. What we do not promise

Please read this section. It is the most important one.

  • We do not guarantee you will receive any scholarship, or any money.
  • We do not guarantee any particular number of matches, or that any scholarship we show you is one you will qualify for.
  • We do not guarantee our information is complete, current, or accurate. Scholarship providers change deadlines, amounts and requirements without telling anyone. Always check the provider's own page before you apply.
  • We do not claim to be the only place these scholarships appear. Many of the awards we surface rarely appear on the large search sites, but we make no claim of exclusivity and you may well find them elsewhere.
  • We never apply on your behalf. Undergrove drafts; you review, edit and submit. We will never submit an application for you, and we will never ask for a password to a scholarship provider's site.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any scholarship provider, university, employer, or organisation whose awards appear in our results, unless we say otherwise. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the awards they offer.
  • Some scholarships are administered through a third-party platform that requires its own account to apply. Where we know this, we tell you before you begin. That platform's terms and privacy practices are its own, not ours.
  • We never charge a fee for a scholarship itself, and no legitimate scholarship charges you to apply. Treat any request for an application fee, a processing fee, or a deposit as a warning sign — and tell us; see our reporting address below.
  • Nothing here is financial, legal, immigration, or educational advice. For decisions about financial aid, loans, or enrollment, talk to your school's financial aid office or a qualified professional.

How we label what we know

Where we haven't confirmed a scholarship's requirements, we mark it "Not verified" and say so. Where we estimate when an award will next open, we say the date is our estimate, not the provider's. We would rather tell you we don't know than show you a confident answer we can't support.

4. Age requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Undergrove. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it immediately.

If you are 13 to 17: you can use Undergrove, and we will not ask you questions about your background, health, identity or household. Credit packs must be purchased by a parent or guardian. We ask that you tell a parent, guardian or school counsellor that you're using Undergrove.

5. Credits and payment

  • Credits buy specific operations. Prices are shown before you spend anything.
  • Credits are not money, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
  • We charge based on what an operation actually costs to run, so the amount taken is often less than the amount held.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • We never ask for a Social Security number, a bank account number, or any financial account identifier. Nobody legitimate needs those to help you find a scholarship.

Refunds: [To be completed with counsel. Recommended: unused credits refundable within 30 days; credits already spent on completed operations are not, because the cost was incurred.] Purchases made by a minor without a parent or guardian's approval are refunded on request.

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must approve any purchase, and we ask you to confirm that they have before you can buy. In some states we verify directly with them. Where we rely on your confirmation, we are relying on what you tell us rather than independently verifying it — if a purchase was made without a parent's approval, contact us and we will refund it. 6. Essay drafting — read before you use it

⚠️ Many scholarships prohibit AI assistance in their applications. Some schools treat it as academic misconduct. Check the rules of every scholarship you apply to. Undergrove is not responsible if an application is rejected, or if you face academic consequences, because you used AI-assisted writing.

A draft is a starting point. You are the author. You are responsible for what you submit, for its accuracy, and for making it your own work. Do not submit a draft unedited.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you write and upload. You give us permission to process it only to provide the service to you.

Writing samples you upload are used only to shape your own drafts. They are never shown to another user and are never used to train any AI model.

8. Acceptable use

Don't scrape or bulk-download our scholarship data. Don't resell access. Don't try to break the service or access another user's account. Don't use the drafting tool to produce anything unlawful.

9. Our data about scholarships

Scholarship facts — names, deadlines, amounts, requirements — are facts, and we don't claim to own them. Our descriptions, rankings and the way we organise the collection are ours. See our Bot and Crawling Policy for how we gather information.

10. Liability

Because we make no promise about results, and because scholarship decisions are made entirely by other organisations, we are not liable for a scholarship you did not receive, a deadline you missed, or an award we did not show you.

11. Changes and closing your account

We'll post changes here with a new date, and email you about material ones.

You can delete your account and all your personal information at any time from your profile. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes and what we must keep.
